Microsoft set to team up with Square enix to bring fantasy Xiii to China

Microsoft may be teaming up with Square Enix to bring the popular fantasy RPG Final Fantasy XIII to China on the Xbox One. The twist is that the game may be offered via a cloud-based streaming service.

The evidence comes came from a page on Microsoft's Xbox One site in China (via Attack of the Fanboy) which is asking for a select number of Chinese Xbox One gamers to participate in a beta test for Final Fantasy XIII via cloud streaming. The test will only require a file download of 160MB with the rest of the game handled via streaming.

Microsoft has experimented with cloud-based game streaming in the past, and even showed off Halo 4 streaming to a Windows Phone during a company meeting in 2013. More recently, it has allowed local streaming of Xbox One games to a Windows 10 PC.
